Former boxer Juan Manuel Marquez gave his opinion on Mike Tyson’s performance in the fight against Jake Paul and lamented the development and outcome of the fight between Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul that took place on Friday at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas in the United States.
The Mexican former champion expressed his feelings in an interview with ProBoxTV, in which he admitted that he was saddened to see a sports legend of that level get involved with the YouTuber.

Marquez stressed that during the fight it was difficult for Mike Tyson to keep up the pace, who at times could not even coordinate his footwork, in addition to having no attack and effectiveness. He stressed that at least the American former world champion resisted during the eight rounds and was not knocked out by the 27-year-old influencer.
“It was remarkable that Mike Tyson was not knocked out. But the truth is that I felt sadness to see the legacy of a great fighter, to see what he did in his career, to lend himself to this kind of thing gave me great sadness,” Marquez said.
“To see the way his right foot wanted to go to the right and couldn’t, he didn’t synchronize his head movements with his body and I think, in that sense, to see a fighter out of rhythm at 58 years old. I took my hat off to him, but to see the size of greatness that Mike Tyson has, to see him this way, the truth is that it caused me a lot of sadness,” he added.
Finally, Marquez said he has great respect for the boxing legend, but suggested that he should no longer return to the ring and better dedicate himself to being a trainer and not get into the ring to fight.
“I take my hat off to him, but to see the size of greatness that Mike Tyson has, to see him in this way, the truth is that it caused me a lot of sadness. It’s what Mike Tyson has to do, not to think about coming back and basically dedicate himself to training. For me he doesn’t have to get into a ring anymore,” he concluded.
